I joined the hospitality, travel and tourism industry more than 30 years ago. I worked in operations, sales and then migrated into skills development and training. During my operational years I developed an interest in doing on-job-training and coaching, became a lecturer and also principal of a renowned hotel school. I am an expert in the field of hospitality operations and customer service experience.
I am an accredited Assessor, Moderator, Designer of Assessment Tools and Training Material. I am also a qualified Skills Development Facilitator - completion of Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports, for SETA grants. I hold a Wine Diploma through the Cape Wine Academy and have qualifications in various management programmes. All training material was personally developed, incorporating industry requirements. Usually I also tailor make these programmes on customer request.
When I present these personally developed Wine Knowledge and Service Programmes or Food and Wine Pairing Programmes, I guide attendees in an entertaining and insightful manner through the wonderful world of wine and food. Attending any of these programmes is an expedition through the delights of wine and food. Transferring my passion, knowledge and skills to service staff counts as my greatest accomplishments.
Other experience covers tendering processes, planning and facilitation of Skills Development Programmes for government departments and corporate companies in and outside of the tourism industry. I am also the preferred trainer for Q2B Solutions, who supplies Property Management Software for venues, and Bizzfo Point of Sales and stock management for retail, hospitality outlets and e-commerce.
My latest achievement was qualifying as a coach for the International Training Centre of International Labour Organization (ITCILO), based in Switzerland. We facilitate Sustainable and Resilient Enterprise (SURE) strategies for companies in the SMME (Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises) business sector.
Any out-sourced trainers, used to assist me in presenting my personal developed training programmes, are all industry experts, with good training skills and qualifications.

Nico Rowan has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry and feels he never worked a day in his life as he loves everything about the industry and the love to serve clients and guests.
Nico is not only a hotelier by trade but a business digital transformation expert due to his many years of high-level decision-making from management operations challenges to CEO/Owner strategic decision-making.
After 23 years at the Manhattan Hotel Pretoria (Dec 1999 - July 2022), Nico sold the Manhattan Hotel and has now started his own business digital transformation and consulting company that will offer a full spectrum of business solutions that will range from cloud software systems, security systems & CCTV, outsourced payroll & clocking software, financial management control systems, procurement management systems, web design, digital marketing, social media management to mention a few.
Nico has already been involved with Q2B since they became a valued member of the Tshwane Tourism Association in 2017 of which Nico now serves as the Chairman of the TTA board for the past 3 years. Nico has been on the TTA board since 2013 and the Vice Chairman for 2 years before he was appointed as the current Chairman.
Nico is a sales agent for Q2B, but he is also extremely excited to see how he can add value to the Q2B PMS cloud solution with some exciting new ideas that will benefit all Q2B clients and their businesses.
